What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register in our guest book, purchase a product or service, or fill out a form. When ordering or registering on our website, you may be asked to enter your: name or e-mail address. You may, however, visit our website anonymously.

We request information from you on our order form. To buy from us, you must provide contact information (like name and billing address) and financial information (like credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.

If you choose to subscribe to our blogs, we request your name and email address in a form. This information is used to send blogs when they are posted and may be used to contact you about products and services you may be interested in learning more about. You may request to be removed from the newsletter at any point, either by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email or replying to the email.

You may provide personal information to the Dogwood Studios teachers for them to better adapt your practice for your needs and to respect your medical history. You may be asked to provide personal information to meet the needs of the event or session. Any information will only be viewed by the teacher and not shared any other person without your explicit consent. Upon request, personal information may be updated or deleted.

    • If you receive bulk emailed newsletters (for example, subscribe to our blog), Mailchimp (part of Intuit Global)’s Privacy Policy HERE and their Cookie Notice HERE are also applicable.

    • When you interact with an email we send through Mailchimp, data are collected about the interaction so we can provide more relevant content for you.

    • Mailchimp does this by adding single pixel gifs, also known as web beacons, in the emails. These are tiny graphic files that contain unique identifiers that enable Mailchimp and us to recognize when an email is opened or certain links are clicked. These technologies record each contact’s email address, IP address, date, and time associated with each open and click for an email campaign. This data is used to create reports about how an email campaign performed.

    • We do not share or resell this information and strictly use it for internal use.

  • Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

 

What legal basis do we have for processing your personal data?

We process your personal information based upon legitimate interests because there is a relevant and appropriate relationship between us, you as a client obtaining information, products, or services from us. When you visit our website, add your personal information to our guest book, submit a question, or order products or services from us, you in effect become our client.

 

When do we share personal data?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal information. We use an outside credit card processing company to bill users for products and services. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes beyond filling your order.

We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our website policies, or protect ours or other’s rights, property, or safety. However, non­personal visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

 

Where do we store and process personal data?

All personal information sent to us or collected by us may be stored anywhere in the world, including but not limited to, in the United States, our servers, the servers of financial institutions that process your order, or the servers of our service providers. By providing information to us, you consent to the storage of your personal information in these locations.

Use of cookies and other technologies

To enhance your experience, we use "cookies" on this website. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a website visitor's hard drive to help us improve your access to our website and identify repeat visitors to our website. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in with a password more than once as a time saver while on our website. This website contains links to other websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our website and to read the privacy statements of any other website that collects personally identifiable information.

When you participate in an online yoga class (private or group), you will click on a link provided to you in a private email that will direct you to the videoconferencing platform Zoom. Dogwood Studios is a customer of Zoom and is subject to Zoom’s Privacy Policy, which is available HERE. The group yoga classes may be recorded for future use, training, or improving our services to you. You may leave your camera and microphone off so that no one else may see or hear you before, during, or after the class or session. The recording only includes the camera view and microphone of the yoga therapist and may be viewed by employees of Dogwood Studios or participants of an On Demand class. For private sessions, you will be asked if you consent to a recording of the session with your camera and microphone on. These recordings will only be available for your private use and is visible to the yoga instructor, and in some instances, to a technical assistant from Dogwood Studios if required.

Although Zoom links are only shared with email address of those who sign up in Dogwoods’ system, there are no guarantees of absolute privacy with live or record sessions due to the nature of the internet. Zoom is not intended to be a secure platform for sharing of private health information. If you need to discuss personal matters, another method such as a telephone call held in a private location is highly suggested.

Our scheduling platform Momence uses encryption for all of your sign in information such as passwords, and you can find their Privacy Policy HERE. You can request that all of your information be removed from Momence if you decide you no longer want to schedule services with Dogwood Studios.

The full payment information (e.g., credit card numbers, expiration dates, code) remains with the credit card transaction provider Stripe and neither Momence nor Dogwood Studios has access to the full payment information. Stripe’s Privacy Policy is available HERE.

Updates to Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time and all updates will be posted on this page. Your continued use of our website after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
