May: Functional Movement and Yoga

There is not a one-size-fits-all yoga posture that suits every body or one that is suitable all times. Certain postures can create imbalance if not approached mindfully. However, when yoga is performed functionally and not alignment based (i.e., aesthetic focused), it can significantly aid in the health of your fascia and allow us to move with minimal stress on the body.

May 1st and 15th, Spiraling for Healthy Movement with Sam

  • Learn the importance of spiraling within our daily functional movements and why "the weights of the body are our focus for mobility, balance and safety and not the connectors (e.g., knees, etc.).

  • CEUs available for Yoga Teachers who attend both sessions and complete the assignment

  • Sign Up for Part 1 In Person or Online

  • Sign Up for Part 2 In Person or Online

June: Wonder

Engaging in a sense of wonder is supportive to our well-being, our mental health, and our connection with the world around us. Experiences of awe and wonder reduce activation of our sympathetic nervous system (fight/flight/freeze response), increase vagal nerve tone, and reduce inflammation and physical stress in our bodies.

Meditation through the lens of Dharna, Dhyana and Samadhi

Meditation is a practice that is more than sitting still. Meditation practices integrate your experience to recognize the truth within. There is a continuum of practice embedded within meditation to become fully integrated with universal Oneness. We will explore different forms of meditation integration: dharna (concentration), dhyana (absorption) and samadhi (equanimity) Wednesdays at 11:30 am ET in March.

May 29th, Journey Through the Koshas (layers of being) with Amanda

rescheduled from March 20th

  • Explore a multi-dimensional approach to meditation to move towards a deeper state of awareness.

Herbal Yoga

Explore ways to connect with plants, and how we can deepen this connection with intention and love.

Interact with a plant directly in the physical body or the subtle body. In herbal wisdom traditions, plants are viewed not merely as a means for healing, but as spiritual beings with wisdom and consciousness. Humans and plants, alike, are of and from the Earth, and we are a continuum of one another. We can see this simply in the fact that the Plant Kingdom exhales the oxygen we inhale to sustain our vitality. This sacred gas exchange is a foundation of our yoga practice: the breath. There are many ways that we are connected to plants, and even more ways that we can deepen this connection with intention and love.
